Paddy May is a singer and actor, currently enrolled in Northwestern University’s Bienen School of Music and the School of Communication, pursuing concentrations in Voice and Theater. He booked his first professional role directly after high school at Act II, an equity theater in Ambler, Pa (a suburb of Philadelphia). He performed in the role of Michael the Archangel in David Javerbaum’s An Act of God, where he delivered comedy and drama as the provocateur, challenging God throughout.
Paddy was a four-year performer for St. Joseph’s Preparatory School’s renowned theater group, Cape & Sword, where he performed in a variety of roles and won several awards. In his senior year, he starred as Lt Daniel Kaffee in Aaron Sorkin’s A Few Good Men and as J. Pierrepont Finch in Frank Loesser’s How to Succeed in Business Without Really Trying. The diverse and challenging roles showcased Paddy’s range as he delivered fiery exchanges, slapstick bits, forlorn laments, sardonic wit, and show-stopping singing performances.
Paddy was also a member and frequent soloist for Philadelphia’s prestigious Commonwealth Youthchoirs since the age of 8. He performed throughout the Philadelphia area, as well as in South Africa, Portugal, England, Scotland, Germany, and Morocco. In Morocco, the choir was privileged to perform at the US Embassy in Rabat. Paddy’s first solo was an audience-erupting rendition of Queen’s Another One Bites the Dust. Other favorite performances include solos in Jason Robert Brown’s Chanukah Suite and the Scottish traditional song, Loch Lomond.
